Halesowen Town have confirmed the departure of first-team manager Russ Penn by mutual consent, bringing an end to his time in charge at The Grove.

Penn guided the Yeltz to consecutive play-off appearances during his tenure, providing supporters with several memorable moments and helping the club achieve its highest league position in 15 years.

In an official statement, Halesowen thanked Penn for his hard work, dedication and commitment, with chairman Keith McKenna wishing him well for the future.

The club have since confirmed that Paul Holleran will take interim charge of first-team affairs, supported by Ryan Conneely and Lewis Solly, while further updates are expected in due course.

Supporters have reacted to the announcement with a mixture of appreciation for Penn's achievements and an understanding of the decision to make a change.

One supporter, Sam, wrote: "This was definitely the right decision", but reminded fellow fans that Penn had taken the club to its highest position in 15 years, adding that the relationship had simply run its course.

Another supporter, Scott Kendrick, agreed that the timing felt right for a change, while acknowledging the progress made under Penn.

"Been a great period for the club so also have to say thanks and good luck to Russ for everything," he commented.

Halesowen will now look to build on the progress made during Penn's tenure as the club prepares for its next chapter.
